1. What is the ASSURE® line?
Arenus believes that healthy horses start from a stable gastrointestinal system. The ASSURE® product line was created based on this very simple concept.
ASSURE® products are an innovative combination of digestive supplements designed to support overall gastrointestinal (GI) health and hind gut motility.
ASSURE® products include exclusive blends of direct fed microbials (probiotics), including a rich source of Saccharomyces cerevasiae yeast culture combined with whole blond psyllium husk.
Each ASSURE® product and corresponding ASSURE SYSTEM® is designed to support different digestive functions while offering a unique blend of direct fed microbials (probiotics) combined with our exclusive GST® technology .
2. What is ASSURE® GST® technology ?
An exclusive technology designed to naturally maintain desired hindgut microflora by maintaining proper hindgut pH.
3. What is ASSURE®?
ASSURE® is a blend of direct fed microbials, formulated to support optimal microfloral balance, combined with whole blond psyllium husk to support proper hindgut motility. ASSURE® is recommended daily to naturally support your horse’s gastrointestinal (GI) health.
4. What is ASSURE PLUS®?
ASSURE PLUS® is a supplement designed to maximize sand clearance and maintain hind gut motility in horses. ASSURE PLUS® includes whole blond psyllium husk. The ASSURE PLUS® feeding program is recommended to properly assist your horse with sand and debris clearance.
5. What is ASSURE® GUARD?
ASSURE® GUARD is a supplement designed to support gastric and intestinal health by maintaining proper stomach pH. ASSURE® GUARD is recommended daily during periods of high management like competition, training, feed changes and changes in environment.
6. What is ASSURE® HOOF?
ASSURE® HOOF combines key active ingredients including gelatin, biotin, sources of amino acids like lysine and methionine, and highly bioavailable sources of copper and zinc, essential for proper hoof growth and strength. ASSURE® HOOF also supports overall gastrointestinal health. ASSURE® HOOF is designed for daily feeding for horses to support hoof wall strength and overall hoof health.
7. What is The ASSURE SYSTEM® approach?
The ASSURE SYSTEM® approach is a combination of supplements designed to work together to support overall normal gastrointestinal health and sand clearance because of specific conditions/challenges commonly observed in your horse’s daily life.

9. What results can I expect while feeding The ASSURE SYSTEM®?
The ASSURE SYSTEM® has a multifaceted approach to sustaining your horse’s health through supporting the removal of sand and other debris from the colon, maintaining proper hindgut motility, naturally supporting a healthy GI tract and has been reported to optimize feed efficiency.
10. What results can I expect while feeding The ASSURE® GUARD SYSTEM?
The ASSURE® GUARD SYSTEM assists in the removal of sand and other debris from the colon, supports intestinal motility and maintains proper stomach pH through acid neutralization. The ASSURE® GUARD SYSTEM is recommended to help your horse during times of intense management practices like competition, training, feed changes and changes in environment.
11. What results can I expect while feeding The ASSURE® HOOF SYSTEM?
The ASSURE® HOOF SYSTEM assists in the removal of sand and other debris from the colon, supports proper hoof growth and strength while naturally maintaining gastrointestinal health. The ASSURE® HOOF SYSTEM is recommended to properly assist your horse with sand clearance and support hoof strength and health.
12. How should I feed The ASSURE SYSTEM® ?
Feed ASSURE®, ASSURE® GUARD or ASSURE® HOOF once a day during the first meal and ASSURE PLUS® once a day at the last meal as instructed by feeding instructions on the label.
13. How long does my horse need to be on one of the ASSURE® products or systems?
ASSURE® is designed to be fed on a daily basis to help maintain a balanced and healthy digestive system. Please follow label instructions for the usage of ASSURE PLUS®.
14. Based upon current drug prohibitions in competition, can my horse compete while on the ASSURE® Products?
Yes, ASSURE® products are formulated with AAFCO-approved feed ingredients. There are absolutely no drugs or botanicals added to these formulas that could cause a positive drug test.
15. Can I feed ASSURE® products with other supplements or medications?
Yes.
16. Can I feed ASSURE® to foals and growing horses?
Yes, you can feed ASSURE® to foals to support a healthy digestive system as soon as they begin eating grain. Feed ASSURE® at a quarter of the normal adult recommendation for the first four weeks of life. Increase the rate to half of the adult recommendation continuing until the foal is at least 600-700 pounds. Above 700 pounds, follow the adult feeding directions. Consult your veterinarian if you are concerned about your foal’s health.
17. Can I feed ASSURE PLUS® to foals and growing horses?
Yes, you can feed ASSURE PLUS® to foals. ASSURE PLUS® can be started once the foal is at least three weeks old. Foals 150 - 300 pounds receive two ounces daily. 300-500 pound foals receive four ounces daily. Foals 500-700 pounds receive six ounces daily. Over seven hundred pounds feed the adult recommendation. Consult your veterinarian if you are concerned about your foal’s health.
18. Do I need to adjust my horse's feeding program when he is on The ASSURE SYSTEM® Program?
No adjustment to your horse's current feeding program is necessary.
19. In what size buckets do ASSURE® products come?
I. ASSURE® - 4.6 lb. container, provides a 120-day supply for horses
weighing 900 to 1400 lbs.
II. ASSURE® GUARD - 9.4 lb. container, provides a 120-day supply horses
weighing 900 to 1400 lbs.
III. ASSURE® HOOF - 5.5 lb. container, provides a 120-day supply horses
weighing 900 to 1400 pounds.
IV. ASSURE PLUS® - 7.5, 15 and 25 lbs.
a. 7.5 lb. container provides a two-month supply of one week interval
feeding for a horse weighing 900 to 1400 pounds.
b. 15 lb. container provides a four-month supply of one week interval
feeding for horses weighing 900-1400 pounds.
c. 25 lb. container is available for starting a horse on a sand
clearance process and continuing on our convenient four-month
ordering cycle.
20. How should I store ASSURE® products?
ASSURE® products should be stored in a cool dry place and resealed between uses.
21. If I am already feeding probiotics, should I keep feeding them to my horse when starting on an ASSURE SYSTEM®?
Discontinue use of your current probiotic product when starting on The ASSURE SYSTEM®.
22. I’ve already had my horse on a psyllium product and I feed it one week out of every month. When starting ASSURE PLUS®, can I skip the five-week clearance period and go immediately into the maintenance of only one week out of every month?
Due to ingredient and quality variation of other sand clearance products, we recommend all horses go through the clearance program for five weeks.
23. I do not live in an area with sand, why would I use ASSURE PLUS®?
Although you may not be living in an area known for sand, dirt also consists of sand and silt. Many horses are maintained on small acreages and eat off the ground. In these situations, it is common for horses to ingest dirt, sand and silt. Even for horses maintained predominantly on grassy pastures, there is still risk of dirt ingestion as they pull up grass from the pastures.
24. How do I feed ASSURE® products; do I add them straight into my horse’s grain or feed them alone?
All of the products were designed to be added to your horse’s concentrate meal.
25. In what form are the ASSURE® products available?
ASSURE®, ASSURE® GUARD and ASSURE® HOOF are granular products. ASSURE PLUS® is a pelleted product.
