Assure Plus®

Assure Plus®

Assure Plus® is an innovative digestive feed supplement designed to support sand and debris clearance and maximize gut health to help control the risk of digestive colic in horses.

The importance of a healthy digestive system
So much of what we see on the horse's outside is affected by what's inside. A shiny coat, healthy body condition, and even performance levels are directly related to the horse's digestive health. This is because the digestive system performs vital functions, such as absorbing nutrients and blocking potentially harmful substances and microorganisms.

Your horse is ingesting more than grass
Although your horse may not be living in an area known for sand, ingestion of silt and other debris may be prevalent in or around feeding areas. Any horse with pasture or paddock turnout is at risk of sand ingestion which, may cause issues and discomfort in your horse's gastrointestinal tract. Ingestion of sand, silt, and debris may:

  • Disrupt gastrointestinal health
  • Trigger diarrhea and weight loss
  • Cause life-threatening colic

Our advanced approach to sand clearance
Assure Plus® is a pelleted digestive aid to help support hindgut motility when challenged with various digestive disturbances. This unique formulation provides encased probiotics, prebiotics, psyllium, and enzymes to naturally support your horse's digestive system. In supporting the hindgut, it has been found that psyllium husk combined with probiotics and enzymes helps to support colonic health. Additionally, by rapidly supporting hindgut health and stabilizing motility, accumulated sand, silt, and debris can be passed in regular fecal excretions. Assure Plus® is blended for use with all types of grain and pelleted concentrates, including those containing probiotics.

Exclusive Gastrointestinal Stabilizing Technology (GST®)
Assure® contains prebiotics, probiotics, and enzymes as well as psyllium seed husk and utilizes GST® for maximum digestive support. This innovative technology helps boost the levels and activity of beneficial microorganisms to maintain desired microflora and proper hindgut pH in horses.

Dr. Fred McCashin, DVM

Over the 41 years of offering veterinary services in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, I have been often confronted with the dilemma of treating colic related to ingestion of sand in the horse.

A typical case is Buddy, a 29 year old Thoroughbred gelding who required treatment for colic about every other month for the past year. He had lost body condition so I encouraged the owner to bring Buddy to my farm and turn him out in my pasture of fertilized Coastal Bermuda. Buddy did not show any signs of colic for the next 6 weeks and he developed a grass belly. He didn’t fill out his topline or his ribcage. He still had sand in his large colon which was audible with a stethoscope despite being fed over-the-counter sand removal products. He was not thriving and would only walk in his pasture due to the load of sand in his belly and lack of energy despite senior feed.

It was then that I heard of the Arenus product that had been researched and found to be effective in removing intestinal sand: Assure Plus. Since this product increases intestinal activity, we kept an alert eye on Buddy over the first week on Assure Plus. His intestinal sounds were amplified but he showed no signs of discomfort. Over the next month while on Assure Plus, Buddy filled out his topline and began to trot and canter in his pasture. The owner was delighted with his dramatic improvement and took him home and kept him on Assure which revitalized his intestinal efficiency.

We have used these products from Arenus in the rehabilitation of rescued horses who have sand or are just emaciated from lack of good nutrition. The rate of weight gain in these rescued horses has been remarkable.

Other products we have had good testimonials from horse owners are Assure Guard for total intestinal health, and Steadfast Equine for care of joints and supporting soft tissues.

I love your products. I was told to put my 17 year old warmblood cross down last Oct 2009. He had been on daily Bute for 7 years because of severe founder. He had come back and been jumping for the last couple of years, but the Bute got to his gut. I got him to a vet who determined that he hadn't ulcered all the way thru the wall, so we gave him a chance. He is 16h3 and looked like nothing more than skin over skeletin. My local vet put him on Assure and then Assure Plus. He's been getting the Plus once a month ever since. I have to watch his weight because he's put it all back on. He's more than willing to jump 3-4 feet and he's totally full of himself.

His feet are great and no more bute

Arenus® Ambassador Julio Arellano - International Polo Professional

I was introduced to the Arenus products just over a year ago. I have since then used them on my polo horses. I have been extremely pleased with the results. My favorite products are the Assure and Assure Plus. They have helped my horses in many ways on more than one occasion.  My first experience was with a mare recovering from salmonella. The vetinerian said the recovery period would be 4 to 5 weeks.  We put her on the Assure and Assure Plus and her stool was almost 100 o/o in 2 weeks.  I have also used the product on mares that are prone to "tying up" with good success ratio.  I would recommend the products from Arenus to anyone serious about their horses complete nutrition.

Lellie Ward - Grand Prix Show Jumper

Hi, My name is Lellie. I'm a three day event rider and I have been using products by Arenus for about 3 years. I have used Steadfast on a number of horses. It really helps their condition, and helps with their anxiety and their all around general performance.

I've used all the Assure products. I've used Assure Hoof which has really helped with their feet and the Assure Plus. We've had exceptional results with all our horses that compete heavily and are always traveling and under a lot of stress. We think a lot of the products by Arenus.
