Peters, who is fresh off a staggering victory at the World Dressage Masters in Palm Beach, Florida, exemplifies talent and horsemanship. Scoring an impressive 84.550% in the Grand Prix freestyle, Peters and his mount Ravel, owned by Akiko Yamazaki, continued a winning streak that has made Americans proud over the past years. Peters made history at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky when he rode Ravel to the bronze medal in the Grand Prix Special.

Olympic British Show Jumper Ben Maher and his stunning black stallion, Tripple-X III, put in a clear round in the $150,000 Wellington Equestrian Realty Grand Prix to take home fourth place during the eighth week of the 2011 FTI Winter Equestrian Festival. Tripple-X’s quick and solid round also helped the duo win the Arenus Performance and Conditioning Award, sponsored by Arenus, a premier provider of innovative health and nutrition products for pets and horses, and given to one horse during the show whose conditioning enhances its performance.

Canadian Olympian Jacquie Brooks set a goal for Grand Gesto to compete in the World Dressage Masters, and the 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding reached his career highlight following a successful ride in the Masters Grand Prix Special. Thanks to Gran Gesto’s excellent conditioning he also won the Arenus Performance and Conditioning Award, which is given to one horse at the show whose conditioning enhances its performance.

Amanda Steege, of Ashmeadow Farm in Oldwick, New Jersey, is a strong believer in horse care and conditioning being among the most important things a rider can concentrate on in order to produce a good performance. One look at the wall of ribbons at Ashmeadow’s stabling area at HITS Ocala proves that Steege’s horses, including Harvard, Prestigious, Majestic, Maximillian, Balou, Duval, San Remo and Allejandro, are not only fit but turning out excellent performances.
