Ride for a Green World

Arenus is working with equestrians around the country to help bring awareness to building a green horse industry together.

TOGETHER WE CAN BE SUSTAINABLE

We all live on the same planet and are responsible for the welfare of not only our horses, but our families, communities and the earth.

Arenus has been a leader in educating and helping communitites become more sustainable. We want you to know more about us and let us know if you have a good idea for improving the care of your horse or the habitat we all share.

Arenus VALUES: Whether we're developing innovative products, collaborating with veterinarians, participating in equine events, or supporting the efforts of horse or pet-related organizations, Arenus is committed to positive relationships. By working with you, we can do more to improve the quality of life for our pets and horses.

Is Your Barn is Eco-Friendly?

Here are a few tips to help out:

  • Pick up and store manure in containers/areas away from drainages and open water sources. This prevents contaminated runoff and controls flies.
  • Use natural/organic toxin-free fly sprays, liniments, herbal de-wormers when possible.
  • Conserve electricity. Turn lights and fans off when not in use.
  • Conserve water. Check for water leaks. Use grey water whenever possible.
  • Please protect soil and water. Be sensitive when turning horses out to prevent erosion and runoff intor streams, drainages, and ponds.
  • Use and conserve recycled footing and bedding.
  • Buy local, clean pesticide-free hay.
  • Look for the NASC seal (National Animal Supplement Council) on your supplements. All members must follow good manufacturing practices.
  • Please recycle containers, bags, paper, and glass.
  • Check vehicles for engine leaks to prevent soil contamination.
